Sensei Andy
Sensei Andy Hewerine 2nd Dan Karate, 1st Dan Kickboxing
Brief Background
Born in 1987 in Leicester, I moved to Norwich in 1993 and first entered the world of Martial Arts at the age of 7. Since then I have achieved a 2nd Dan in Karate and a 1st Dan in Kickboxing. Over the years I have competed at local level and national level in kata, sparring and semi & full contact kickboxing.
I have a degree in Business Management and Economics from the University of East Anglia and run an advertising and printing company.
What do I enjoy most about martial arts?
Throughout my journey in Martial Arts I have been lucky to experience many different aspects and styles.
I enjoy training and the fitness, flexibility and confidence that Martial Arts bring. It takes a while to realise that Black Belt is only the beginning and there is so much more to experience and learn on your journey.
Over the past 5 years I have enjoyed instructing students, from their first class through to when they achieve their Black Belt. It is very rewarding to know that I have been able to help that person accomplish such a significant personal success.
Future Aspirations
From a Martial Arts perspective, I would like to achieve my 3rd Dan in Karate and 2nd Dan in Kickboing by the end of 2009. Long term I would like to achieve the rank of Master by gaining a 5th Dan Black Belt.
