Sensei Chris

Sensei Chris Vignaux 3nd Dan Karate, 1st Dan Shotokan

Brief Background
I first started karate at the age of 23 at the Norwich Shotokan Karate club and gained my 1st Dan  in 1989. I went on to instruct and run the club for a year while my Sensei’s worked away. Due to a change in circumstances I had a break from Karate and trained in Ju Jitsu for a year gaining a couple of grades.
I started training with Master Wayne after I had taken my son Luke (now a Black Belt) at the age of 5 to start his journey in martial arts, knowing the benefits karate can bring and the life skills it can teach. Again I started from white belt and have worked my way through the grades gaining my 1st Dan in 2003 after which I was able to teach and pass on my knowledge to the SESMA students. I gained my 2nd Dan in 2006 and my 3rd Dan June 2010 from Grand Master Mick Blackwell 8th Dan & Master Richar Vince 7th Dan.

What do I enjoy most about martial arts?
I get immense pleasure out of seeing students grow in confidence, improve themselves both physically and mentally. Its great to know that the students are having loads of fun and learning to defend themselves should they need to.

Future Aspirations
To work my way up the grades to black belt in Kickboxing. Assist  my children their development in martial arts.
